"My fondest memories of Ramadan are from my college years. Ten years ago, Ramadan was during the spring. Since Muslims go by a lunar calander, Ramadan is pushed back by about 10 days every year. Spring is a good time for Ramadan, no matter where you are. The days are not too long, and you have to wake up early enough so that going back to sleep isn’t too much of a problem. Muslims are obligated to wake up before sunrise and make an intention of fasting – without making this intention the fast is incomplete."
