"Weather in Mongolia has become steadily drier and more harsh each year of the last decade, with disasters caused by seasonal temperature extremes, drought and sandstorms felt increasingly across the country. Consequences of these conditions are extreme for ordinary rural communities, driven into poverty and hunger by the sudden loss of their livestock, their sole form of subsistence, and the spread of disease."
